This pivotal role involves overseeing the company's accounting functions, managing financial reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate accounting, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance, with a passion for driving financial excellence across diverse sectors, such as governmental organizations. Duties Lead the preparation and presentation of accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Oversee all aspects of general ledger accounting, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet management. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure efficient cash flow and vendor relationships. Implement and maintain internal controls compliant with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements to safeguard company assets. Coordinate regulatory reporting obligations for government agencies and non-profit entities, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws. Supervise month-end and year-end closing activities, including bank reconciliations and financial analysis. Oversee payroll processing using various accounting software such as Paycom, or similar platforms. Conduct cash management activities, including forecasting and cash flow analysis to optimize liquidity. Lead budgeting processes and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Ensure adherence to technical accounting standards related to governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and public sector regulations. Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data. Skills Extensive knowledge of
GAAP, IFRS, SOX
compliance, and regulatory reporting standards. Proven expertise in corporate accounting practices including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management. Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, account analysis, forecasting, and financial software applications like Sage Intacct. Experience in managing accounts payable/receivable functions within diverse organizational contexts including non-profit or governmental sectors. Excellent financial report writing skills combined with analytical capabilities for detailed financial analysis and management reporting. Proficiency in budgeting processes and cash flow management to support organizational growth objectives. Ability to interpret complex financial data accurately while communicating findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Technical expertise in payroll processing systems and general ledger reconciliation procedures.
