Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller Fabre Automotive is a family-owned group of high-performance automobile dealerships serving South Louisiana. Do you thrive on Excel chaos? If you have a passion for GL and the ability to explain complex financial trends without putting people to sleep, we want you! We are looking for an Assistant Controller to help us make the books look beautiful, keep the CPAs happy, and ensure our cash flow isn't just a mythical concept.

What You'll Actually Be Doing:

Assisting with the

Month-End Circus:

Helping with the monthly close process, ensuring that journal entries are posted, accounts are reconciled, and no pennies are left unturned.

Battling Discrepancies:

Investigating, analyzing, and ruthlessly correcting financial inaccuracies before they become "issues". Scrubbing the schedules to make them shine.

Commanding Excel:

Creating complex models, reports, and spreadsheets so magnificent they might be considered art. "Other Duties": Assisting with special projects, which might range from implementing new software to figuring out why the copiers aren't reporting to our vendor. What You Need to

Bring:

2+ years of experience in a similar role where you learned that, yes, the deadline is real. Or if you are just starting out, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance will work (everybody needs a first opportunity)!

Excel mastery:

If you don't know what VLOOKUP or Pivot Tables are, this isn't the job for you. Dealertrack DMS experience would also be beneficial. A "Detective"

Mentality:

You enjoy finding the one-cent error that caused the entire balance sheet to not balance. The Practical Stuff Full-time OR part-time, your choice.
