This role is responsible for maintaining accurate reporting, strengthening internal processes, and guiding the team through monthly and year-end financial activities. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, sound technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to support both day-to-day execution and long-term financial planning.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting activities to ensure financial records are completed accurately and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved. Manage positive pay activity and related cash control processes to support secure and timely transaction handling. Review departmental workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement more efficient practices while preserving a high standard of accuracy. Prepare and deliver financial analyses, management reports, and ad hoc updates requested by senior leadership. Direct the general ledger function, including oversight of month-end and year-end close activities and coordination of audit readiness efforts. Partner with internal stakeholders and the parent organization on recurring financial reporting, planning initiatives, and broader business support needs. Develop and introduce process enhancements, tools, and department procedures that improve productivity and reporting effectiveness. Lead, coach, and support accounting staff through training, performance feedback, annual goal setting, and resolution of employee relations matters within the department. Contribute to system or process implementation efforts when needed, ensuring accounting requirements are addressed and operational continuity is maintained.
