Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
a. Provides leadership assistance to the superintendent for the development, promotion, and implementation of the district's strategic plan and its goals, priorities and objectives. b. Oversees the finance, operations areas and functions of the district, including the food service department. c. Prepares accurate and timely financial and data reporting for the school committee monthly and as needed. d. Works cooperatively with all administrators to understand district priorities and identify resources and fiscal strategies to support the programmatic needs of all students. e. Evaluates and supports finance department's administrative staff. f. Makes recommendations to the superintendent on fiscal policy and procedural additions, changes, or improvements.
Finance:
a. Development and preparation of an annual budget that is designed to support district goals and schools' priorities. b. Coordinates and supervises the district's annual budget process and provides continuous guidance to the superintendent. c. Supervises and manages all financial and operational areas of the district including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing and reporting, technology support, benefits administration, transportation, food service, facilities, and treasury. d. Management and reporting requirements of all federal, state, and local revenue to the district. e. Management and reporting requirements of all federal, state, and local grants, both entitlement and competitive. f. Oversight of all student activity accounts, fee collections and deposits, and all other accounts receivable. g. Prepares necessary statements, reports, and financial data as needed, particularly for audit purposes. h. Acts as the Chief Procurement Officer.
Facilities:
a. Along with district facilities director, oversees all aspects of buildings and grounds, and facilities management. b. Keeps the superintendent updated and informed of mandates, regulations, requirements, and compliance issues related to the operations of school facilities. c. Supervises and evaluates district facilities director. d. Develops annual budget to support the upkeep and maintenance of existing facilities. e. Develops multi-year capital asset plan with facilities director to include equipment. f. Works directly with Massachusetts School Building Authority on the appropriate projects. g. Other duties as designated by the superintendent or school committee.
