The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of both GAAP as well as proficiency in accounting software and financial management practices. General Duties and Responsibilities of Construction Controller Manage all aspects of the company's financials, including general ledger, accounts receivable, billing, accounts payable, and payroll Collaborate with various departments to develop and monitor budgets, financial goals, and forecasts. Track and manage accounts receivables, including collections Prepare and process all prime contract invoicing Ensure compliance with accounting standards, industry regulations, state/federal tax filings Work on Viewpoint/Vista Software Supervise mentor and develop the accounting team members as directed Collaborate with cross project management Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, analysis, and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, WIP schedule, and cashflow projections for review. Coordinate and manage external auditors, tax preparations, bonding firm, and financial I institutions Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud. Perform due diligence and create projections for growth opportunities. Utilize and manage financial and construction management software to help streamline processes and improve efficiencies. Develop key point indicators to measure financial performance and project success. Qualifications of Construction Controller Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred. experience with whip reports Vista/Viewpoint Software experience preferred Proven experience as a Controller in construction or related Strong knowledge of accounting software systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Expertise in financial analysis, cash management, balance sheet reconciliation, and regulatory reporting. Familiarity with GAAP, and technical accounting principles. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
