Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and strategic Director of Finance to lead our financial operations with clarity and confidence. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all financial activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations while driving fiscal health and growth. This role will work closely beside Senior Leadership and implement and oversee the operating systems that are needed for a healthy organization. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. Oversee all accounting functions such as general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, cost accounting, and financial statement preparation. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting standards such as IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, and industry-specific financial regulations. Manage treasury functions including cash flow analysis, investment management, risk assessment, and banking relationships. Lead the development of financial projection models to support business development initiatives and strategic decision-making. Supervise the finance team to foster professional growth while maintaining high standards of accuracy in financial report writing and interpretation. Conduct risk analysis to identify potential financial vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies for fiscal stability. Experience Proven experience in finance leadership roles such as Finance Director or CFO within a nonprofit or environmental consulting organization. Extensive knowledge of accounting systems, Excel data analysis, financial software, and technical accounting practices including accrual accounting. Strong background in industry-specific financial concepts such as profit & loss management, cost control, revenue management, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis. Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance management related to governmental accounting standards and industry regulations. Skilled in strategic management with a focus on financial planning, investment management, budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal management. Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing diverse finance teams while fostering a culture of accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.
