Job Description

A well-established production-focused organization with a long history of quality craftsmanship and operational excellence is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead financial reporting, accounting operations, and process improvement initiatives. This role partners closely with executive leadership and operational teams to support strategic growth, financial accuracy, and operational efficiency within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accounting Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including: General ledger management Accounts payable and accounts receivable Inventory and cost accounting Payroll oversight Expense management and accruals Balance sheet reconciliations Assist with monthly financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP. Support annual audits, tax preparation, and coordination with external accounting partners. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance. Operational & Manufacturing Support Partner with operations leadership to improve cost tracking, production reporting, and margin analysis. Develop and maintain operational metrics related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and fulfillment performance. Support pricing analysis, vendor cost evaluations, and process improvement initiatives. Participate in inventory count processes and manufacturing efficiency programs. Process Improvement & Internal Controls Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Drive improvements in inventory accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting processes. Recommend process enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and ERP utilization. Administer and monitor company purchasing card processes and related controls. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis Assist with annual budgeting and financial forecasting activities. Collaborate with department leaders on quarterly budget planning and variance analysis. Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Experience managing the full accounting cycle in a manufacturing, production, or inventory-driven environment. Experience with cost accounting, margin analysis, and operational finance. ERP system experience required (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms). Advanced Excel skills required. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy.
