Job Description

The Senior Controller is PCM's senior accounting leader and is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal financial controls for PCM Services. This role is a mix of tactical execution and strategic leadership and ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information while supporting executive leadership with strategic financial insights.   • functionally to support company growth and operational efficiency.
Job responsibilities:
Key Priorities for This Role Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, and financial reporting. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year
  • end financial close processes.
Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets. Support the executive team with financial analysis, forecasts, and reporting. Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Coordinate and lead external audits, tax filings, and interactions with external accountants. Oversee proper revenue recognition and cost allocation across service lines. Accounting Operations & Controls Establish, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Ensure accurate job costing and cost
  • to•complete reporting to support operational decision•making.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and balance sheet accounts. Ensure accurate fixed asset tracking, depreciation, and reconciliations. Manage supplemental compensation process for the business including bonus and commission calculations. Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff. Assign work, review performance, and support professional development. Partner with operations, HR, and leadership to align financial processes with business needs. Directly oversee the accounting team, including Controller, Accounting Managers, and AP/AR staff as applicable. Lead hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and corrective action for the accounting team. Establish clear roles, expectations, goals, and accountability for team members. Foster a culture of accuracy, timeliness, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team. Identify process improvements, efficiencies, and system enhancements. Support system implementations and upgrades (ERP, accounting software, reporting tools). Key Skills Needed to Be Successful Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Advanced financial analysis and critical thinking skills Leadership and people-management capability High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills ERP and accounting system proficiency Ability to thrive in a high transaction environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience Prior experience in construction, service-based, or project-driven organizations preferred Proven experience leading accounting teams and managing audits
