Job Description

Assistant Controller A growing manufacturing company is seeking an Assistant Controller to support its finance and accounting operations. This role will help lead financial reporting, maintain internal controls, support operational analysis, and partner with leadership to improve business performance.

This position is well suited for a hands-on accounting professional with strong experience in a manufacturing environment. The Assistant Controller will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, engineering, and site leadership, to support accurate reporting, financial planning, and process improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and other close activities
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and support compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Analyze inventory, reserves, and manufacturing-related variances
  • Partner with operational leaders to monitor performance and explain financial results
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning activities
  • Prepare management reports and variance analysis
  • Help strengthen internal controls and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Support external audits, tax-related activities, and other compliance requirements
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff as needed
  • Month End Close, General Ledger, Financial Statement Audits, DCAA, Financial Reporting
  • Bachelor?s degree in Accounting required
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • CPA or CPA track preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience required
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments
