About this position:
The Vice President Commercial Lender is responsible for commercial loan production, loan portfolio growth, and the expansion of depository relationships with both existing and new members. This role focuses on relationship management, delivery of financial solutions, and support of members' business objectives.
What You'll Do:
Relationships and Loan Portfolio Growth for Existing Customers Build and maintain a strong pipeline of commercial lending opportunities to support portfolio growth. Develop a thorough understanding of members' businesses, including their operations, financial performance, and strategic objectives. Manage and deepen existing member relationships by identifying opportunities to cross-sell deposit products and other financial services. Provide members with insights, industry knowledge, and market trends to support informed business decisions. Loan Portfolio Management and Maintenance Monitor the commercial loan portfolio to ensure strong credit quality, including oversight of past-due credits, non-performing loans, loan servicing, and the resolution of outstanding loan conditions. Conduct regular member meetings on a quarterly to semi-annual basis to assess performance and identify new lending opportunities. Loan Structuring, Processing, and Closing Evaluate member loan requests and make preliminary assessments of creditworthiness and feasibility. Gather and analyze required documentation, including financial statements and project-related information. Collaborate with the Credit team to obtain additional information or clarification needed for loan approval and closing. Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure timely and efficient loan processing and execution of loan documents. Ensure full compliance with all federal and state lending regulations, LMCU policies, and risk management standards.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field. Five+ years of experience in commercial lending, with proven success in portfolio management and business development. Thorough knowledge of commercial lending policy, depository services, credit union/banking operations. Solid financial analysis capabilities and understanding of financial statements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Active involvement in community and industry organizations preferred.
