Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations and provide strong financial oversight for a manufacturing environment in Fairfield, Maine. This role will guide day-to-day financial activities, strengthen reporting accuracy, and support business decisions through budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to controllership, builds effective banking partnerships, and helps ensure disciplined financial management across the organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily accounting activities, ensuring timely processing, accurate records, and consistent financial controls across the organization.
  • Oversee cost accounting processes to improve visibility into product and operational costs within a manufacturing setting.
  • Prepare, review, and monitor budgets and financial forecasts to support planning and performance management.
  • Coordinate audit-related activities, including documentation preparation, schedule management, and responses to auditor requests.
  • Manage and develop the accounting team, setting priorities and promoting high standards of accuracy and accountability.
  • Maintain banking relationships and oversee cash management activities to support liquidity and financial stability.
  • Produce financial reports and analysis that help leadership evaluate results, trends, and business performance.
  • Strengthen internal accounting procedures and controls to support compliance, efficiency, and reliable reporting.
