Job Description

We are helping our client who is looking for an experienced Plant Controller to lead financial oversight for a manufacturing operation in Tennessee. This role is suited for a hands-on finance specialist who can manage the close process, strengthen reporting accuracy, and bring a more forward-looking, analytical approach to business decisions. The position supports multiple entities and works closely with leadership to improve financial visibility, accountability, and operational performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily accounting and financial control activities for the plant and associated business entities, ensuring accurate records and dependable reporting.
  • Lead month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, cost analysis, and review of ledger activity to maintain timely and precise financial statements.
  • Oversee manufacturing and job costing processes, with attention to standard costs, fixed assets, inventory-related transactions, and cost accuracy across operations.
  • Build and monitor budgets, forecasts, and performance analyses that help leadership evaluate results, spot trends, and make informed business decisions.
  • Investigate financial discrepancies, identify root causes, and take initiative to correct issues before they affect reporting or operational outcomes.
  • Partner with plant and divisional leadership to improve financial discipline, support planning efforts, and encourage a data-driven culture across the business.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and audit expectations through strong controls and consistent documentation.
  • Support financial process improvements, reporting enhancements, and user guidance within tools such as QuickBooks Online and related systems.
  • Contribute strategic financial insight across multiple companies while remaining actively involved in detailed accounting work as business needs require.
