Royal Oak, MI Job Details Full-time $80,000 - $90,000 a year 1 hour ago Qualifications Japanese Full Job Description We are seeking a bilingual Assistant Controller to support accounting and financial operations within a manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with the local Controller based in Ohio and serve as a key point of contact with the Japan headquarters on accounting, financial reporting, and audit-related matters. This position is designed with a clear path toward a future Controller role. Key Responsibilities Support the local Controller in daily accounting and financial operations Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Prepare and review financial reports and supporting documentation Communicate and coordinate with Japan headquarters on accounting matters, reporting, and audits Support audit activities, including working with external audit firms and preparing required materials Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards Participate in ERP-related initiatives, including implementation or system improvements Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations Qualifications Required Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience in accounting Preferred Experience in a manufacturing environment Experience supporting audits or working with external auditors ERP implementation or system experience (Infor preferred) Candidate Profile Interested in a long-term career path leading to a Controller position Motivated to work in a cross-border environment involving U.S. operations and Japan headquarters Strong communication and coordination skills Additional Information Target candidates may include individuals seeking to continue their career in the U.S. long-term
