Job Description We are partnering with our client, a company in the transportation, logistics, and supply chain industry, to identify an Assistant Controller who can help lead day-to-day accounting operations while supporting process improvements across the function. This role is ideal for someone with strong GAAP knowledge, proven accounting leadership experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. Key Responsibilities:
Support the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring accuracy across financial activities Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting Maintain and strengthen compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Help manage the organization's accounts receivable process, including monitoring collections and supporting timely resolution of outstanding balances Analyze existing accounting workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability Partner with leadership to help reduce close timelines and improve reporting processes Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and implement more efficient accounting solutions, including the practical use of AI and other tools Support preparation of internal financial statements, management reporting, and ad hoc analysis Collaborate cross-functionally with operational and leadership teams to ensure alignment between accounting and business activities Assist with system/process transitions and continuous improvement initiatives as the organization evolves Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as part of the broader accounting leadership function Contribute to a culture of accountability, adaptability, and high-quality work in a dynamic business environment Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles 2+ years of accounting leadership experience Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and general accounting operations Ability to evaluate and improve accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy Experience managing or supporting receivables processes in a deadline-driven environment Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt to change and succeed in a fast-paced business environment Professional communication skills and a collaborative leadership style Resourceful, detail-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Preferred Qualifications:
