Full-Time, Exempt About the Opportunity A well-established Minnesota based professional services business is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and finance operations. This individual will oversee all aspects of financial management, accounting operations, reporting, budgeting, billing, collections, and financial controls while partnering with leadership to support strategic business objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on financial leader who enjoys balancing day-to-day accounting operations with financial analysis and process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership Lead the accounting and finance functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses. Monitor financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to leadership. Accounting Operations Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, cash management, and trust accounting functions. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with external accounting and tax advisors regarding tax filings and financial reporting. Team Management Supervise and develop accounting staff. Establish effective processes, cross-training, and performance expectations. Foster a collaborative and service-oriented department culture. Operational Excellence Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency. Support implementation and optimization of accounting and financial systems. Assist leadership with special projects, business analysis, and operational initiatives. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Five or more years of progressive accounting leadership experience. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections. Demonstrated experience supervising accounting staff. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred CPA designation. Experience within a professional services environment. Knowledge of trust accounting and professional services billing practices. Pay:
$95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
