Korn Ferry has been exclusively retained to lead the search for a Director of Finance Compliance on behalf of one of North America's premier construction and development organizations, recognized for its industry leadership, innovation, and employee-centric culture. As the organization continues to expand its presence across large-scale infrastructure, renewable energy, and mission-critical projects, leadership is seeking a strategic finance executive to enhance and lead an enterprise finance compliance function supporting one of the company's highest-profile growth initiatives. This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape compliance strategy at a pivotal time as the organization capitalizes on significant government-driven investment and evolving regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Director of Finance Compliance will serve as the enterprise leader responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the company's finance-related regulatory compliance framework. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership across Finance, Legal, Operations, Tax, HR, and IT to ensure compliance with Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) requirements, prevailing wage regulations, government-funded program compliance, and broader finance-related regulatory initiatives. The organization is making significant investments in renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and other government-incentivized projects, creating a unique opportunity for a finance leader to establish scalable compliance processes, influence enterprise strategy, and help maximize the value of federal incentive programs while minimizing regulatory risk. Leadership is seeking an individual who can translate complex regulations into practical business solutions while building a best-in-class compliance function from the ground up. Key Areas of Impact Serve as the enterprise finance leader responsible for IRA compliance, prevailing wage requirements, and broader finance-related regulatory compliance initiatives. Partner closely with executive leadership across Finance, Legal, Operations, Tax, HR, and IT to ensure alignment between compliance requirements and business strategy. Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide finance compliance policies, controls, and governance frameworks. Provide strategic guidance on government-funded projects, regulatory requirements, and incentive programs while mitigating financial and operational risk. Lead external regulatory reviews, audits, and compliance reporting while serving as the primary finance liaison with auditors and regulatory agencies. Drive automation, reporting enhancements, and technology solutions that improve compliance tracking, documentation, and audit readiness. Build and develop a high-performing compliance organization while fostering a culture of accountability, governance, and continuous improvement. Advise executive leadership on emerging regulatory developments and compliance strategies that support long-term organizational growth. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA preferred. 10-15+ years of progressive experience in finance, regulatory compliance, audit, or financial controls leadership. Direct experience with Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) compliance or closely related federal incentive programs strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of prevailing wage regulations, government contracting, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Demonstrated success interpreting complex regulatory requirements and translating them into scalable business processes and controls. Experience leading enterprise compliance initiatives, external audits, or regulatory engagements. Executive presence with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership across a matrixed organization. Background in construction, infrastructure, engineering, energy, manufacturing, or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
