The Role We are looking for an experienced Controller to serve as our senior financial leader. Reporting directly to the Owner/President, you will own the full scope of accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance across all of our business entities. This is a hands-on role where strategic thinking meets day-to-day execution — ideal for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial, high-trust environment. What You'll Do Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) for each entity and on a consolidated basis Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts and cash flow projections Oversee all accounting operations: AP, AR, general ledger, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations Design and enforce internal controls and accounting policies to protect company assets and ensure data integrity Manage multi-state tax compliance and coordinate with external CPAs and tax advisors Monitor daily cash positions, banking relationships, credit lines, and working capital across all entities Oversee payroll processing and support employee benefits administration (health, 401(k)) Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, bankers, and financial service providers Evaluate and optimize accounting software and technology to improve efficiency Directly supervise and develop the accounting team What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred 7-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years as a Controller or in a senior accounting leadership role Experience managing multiple entities or companies Advanced proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, financial modeling, data analysis Experience with payroll systems (Paylocity preferred) and multi-state tax compliance Industry background in logistics, freight, events/promotions, or marketing is a plus Who You Are You operate with unwavering integrity.
