  • Full-time We are seeking an Assistant Controller assist in the day-to-day accounting functions across both City Rent A Truck and City Truck Equipment.
Operating under a shared holding company, this role supports two distinct business lines, a B2B commercial truck rental operation and a commercial vehicle upfitting operation, within a single, consolidated accounting environment. This is a hands-on role focused on the integrity of financial data across multiple entities. Reporting to the Controller, who leads the day-to-day accounting operations, the Assistant Controller performs the general ledger, reconciliation, close work, and partners with the Controller to maintain a sound internal control framework. The successful candidate combines deep technical accounting expertise with the diligence to execute accurately and on schedule. This hire arrives at a pivotal moment. With a new ERP platform going live in 2026, the Assistant Controller will support the standardization of processes and the strengthening of controls, working alongside the Controller to scale the accounting function across both businesses. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset tracking.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform detailed general ledger account analysis, reconciliations, and variance analysis to maintain the integrity of financial data across multiple entities.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation and review across multiple entities.
  • Help develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to strengthen the general ledger function.
  • Work with the Controller to implement and maintain financial controls and guidelines, in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support external auditors during financial and operational audits by coordinating requests and providing documentation.
  • Support the Controller with special projects, workflow process improvements, and the ability to back up the Controller on specific duties.
  • Apply experience and sound judgment to accomplish assigned goals accurately and on schedule.

Qualifications 5+ years of accounting experience preferred Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related discipline required Prior Experience as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller preferred Experience with system implementation, preferred Strong full-cycle general ledger accounting experience required Multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred Ensure strong attention to detail and accuracy across all accounting functions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Pay:
$65,000.00
