Job Description

Plant Controller Position Type:
Permanent/Full-time Location:
Owensville, MO (5 days a week on-site)
Compensation:
$100,000 to $140,000+/Annually + Bonus + Vacation + Benefits We are partnering with our client, a leading manufacturer of print products, to recruit a Plant Controller . Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this pivotal role will oversee all plant-level accounting, financial reporting, and analysis to drive strategic decision-making. As a key business partner to plant leadership and the VP of Manufacturing, the successful candidate will hold full accountability for financial performance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership:
Lead all plant accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring strict accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines.
Month-End Ownership:
Own the monthly close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Insights & Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial results—including P&L variances against forecast, budget, and prior years—and effectively communicate actionable insights to management.
Planning & Forecasting:
Coordinate the annual budget and periodic forecasts, serving as a key contributor to strategic and capital planning initiatives.
Operational Partnership:
Partner closely with plant and operations leadership to evaluate productivity, cost reduction opportunities, and working capital initiatives.
Asset Management:
Oversee capital expenditures (CapEx), inventory management, and cost accounting activities.
Team Development:
Continuously improve financial processes while coaching, mentoring, and developing the site finance staff.
Qualifications Education & Credentials:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required; a CPA designation and/or an MBA is highly preferred.
Experience:
7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience within a manufacturing environment, including strong hands-on experience in cost accounting and financial reporting.
Core Competencies:
Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, inventory valuation, and capital analysis.
Compliance:
Strong working knowledge of internal controls and financial compliance requirements.
Strategic Thinking:
Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and translate it into strategic business insights.
Collaboration:
Strong experience partnering directly with operations or manufacturing leadership is preferred.
Systems Expertise:
Proficiency with modern ERP and financial reporting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Essbase is a strong plus.
Technical Skills:
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and modern financial modeling tools.
