Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the finance and accounting function for a manufacturing operation in the Springfield, MO area. This role partners closely with plant leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and provide practical analysis that supports operational and strategic decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to guide teams toward performance goals. Responsibilities:
  • Lead the day-to-day work of the accounting team, ensuring core financial activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Oversee compliance with corporate accounting policies and maintain disciplined financial processes across the facility.
  • Produce reliable financial statements and reporting packages that give leadership clear visibility into business performance.
  • Build budgets and financial plans, track results against targets, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve outcomes.
  • Safeguard company assets by maintaining effective internal controls and validating the accuracy of account balances and valuations.
  • Develop reporting tools and management information that help department leaders monitor results and make informed decisions.
  • Evaluate key manufacturing and financial metrics such as sales, margins, overhead, scrap, inventory, and product costs to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Support capital spending reviews, inventory analysis, product costing, and operational reporting tied to plant performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement through process refinement, employee development, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Prepare required reports for corporate leadership and government agencies while communicating effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels
