Job Description

The Personnel Consulting Group has partnered with a rapidly growing, family-owned portfolio of businesses within the hospitality, real estate, and retail sectors to find a hands-on Accounting Controller . This is not a "hands-off" management role. We are looking for a self-starter who is comfortable setting policy but equally excited to dive into day-to-day accounting. The environment is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and highly casual, reporting directly to the CFO and ownership.
Key Responsibilities Financial Close & Reporting:
Independently own and streamline the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple separate legal entities. Prepare clean, consolidated financial statements for ownership and lenders.
Core Operations:
Oversee AP, AR, daily cash management, revenue recognition, and monthly rolling debt schedules.
Systems Integration:
Act as the internal super-user for accounting software ( Restaurant365 preferred) and coordinate integrations with various point-of-sale (POS) and property management systems.
Compliance & Controls:
Enforce internal controls, manage intercompany transactions, and coordinate with external CPAs for tax filings and annual insurance audits.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor a small accounting staff while troubleshooting financial workflows with on-site operations managers.
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years preferred in a Controller or Accounting Manager capacity.
Environment Match:
Proven experience managing multi-entity accounting with high transaction volumes.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations) is required. Experience with Restaurant365 or hospitality/restaurant POS platforms is a strong plus.
Attributes:
A "we-mentality" team player who thrives in a dynamic environment, can independently drive the month-end close, and can build processes that scale. What's in it for You? Direct visibility and partnership with executive ownership. Comprehensive health insurance covered by the employer. Paid Time Off (PTO). A collaborative, high-energy environment with genuine room for long-term career growth.
