Job Description

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to join a well-established company in the Goldsboro area. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to oversee comprehensive accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on environment and contribute to the company's financial stability and growth.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including month-end close processes and preparation of work papers and trial balances.
  • Review financial statements and the general ledger to ensure accuracy and alignment with company standards.
  • Prepare daily cash reports and download bank activity from multiple accounts.
  • Examine check requests for proper coding and accuracy before processing.
  • Create and post recurring journal entries into the general ledger system.
  • Reconcile selected asset and liability accounts to ensure documentation matches general ledger balances.
  • Manage loan information and produce monthly loan schedules.
  • Supervise and review the work of accounting staff to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Administer the company's 401(k) plan and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor and review payroll transactions and ensure proper general ledger entries are recorded.
