Job Description
Description Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to join a well-established company in the Goldsboro area. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to oversee comprehensive accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on environment and contribute to the company's financial stability and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including month-end close processes and preparation of work papers and trial balances.
- Review financial statements and the general ledger to ensure accuracy and alignment with company standards.
- Prepare daily cash reports and download bank activity from multiple accounts.
- Examine check requests for proper coding and accuracy before processing.
- Create and post recurring journal entries into the general ledger system.
- Reconcile selected asset and liability accounts to ensure documentation matches general ledger balances.
- Manage loan information and produce monthly loan schedules.
- Supervise and review the work of accounting staff to maintain high-quality standards.
- Administer the company's 401(k) plan and ensure compliance with regulations.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management.
- Strong proficiency in general ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation.
- Expertise in creating and posting journal entries.
- Proven ability to perform account reconciliations.
