Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial operations at our manufacturing facility in Hickory, North Carolina. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting the plant leadership team with strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing operations, paired with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis at the plant level.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to provide insights and support strategic planning.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics.
- Oversee the establishment and maintenance of standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
- Ensure accurate valuation and reporting of inventory, including cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting efforts for the plant, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Support capital investment planning and analysis to drive profitability.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and better asset utilization.
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards and internal controls.
- Work closely with corporate accounting teams during month-end close processes. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on manufacturing cost accounting.
- Proficiency in cost accounting principles and manufacturing operations.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or similar systems.
- Strong analytical abilities paired with excellent communication and business partnering skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead financial initiatives and drive operational improvements.
- Knowledge of inventory valuation methods and standard costing practices.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
