Job Description

Controller Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial operations for our manufacturing organization. The Controller will ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, oversee accounting systems and processes, and support strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with operations and senior leadership to drive financial performance, manage budgeting and forecasting, and implement ERP and reporting solutions to improve efficiency and insight. Key Responsibilities Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Manage and develop the accounting team, including hiring, mentoring, performance management and workflow optimization. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets and general ledger accounting functions. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, variance analysis and KPIs to senior management and the board. Develop and maintain strong internal controls, policies and SOX readiness where applicable to protect company assets and ensure compliance. Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning processes; provide scenario modeling and analysis to support business decisions. Drive ERP and financial systems implementation, optimization and integration (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks or other ERPs) and leverage reporting tools such as Power BI for management dashboards. Coordinate and support external audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting; liaise with auditors, tax advisors and banks. Partner with manufacturing and operations to analyze product costing, inventory valuation, margin analysis and process improvement opportunities. Implement process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred. Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls. Demonstrated experience with ERP systems implementation and administration (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks or similar) and integrating financial processes across systems. Proven ability to develop financial models, budgets, forecasts and perform variance analysis. Hands-on experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI or equivalent for dashboarding and insights. Experience with inventory accounting, product costing, standard costing and manufacturing finance processes. Excellent leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; capable of presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills and aptitude for process improvement and automation. Experience with external audits, tax compliance and working with auditors and external advisors.
