Job Description

We are seeking an experienced full-time Controller for our Chevrolet dealership located within a one-hour drive of Wilmington, NC. The Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and implementing financial controls and budgets to ensure the integrity of the company's financial results, mitigate risk, and maximize profitability. This position oversees daily accounting operations to promote efficient cash management, seamless transaction processing, clean and accurate financial records, and full compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and
U.S. GAAP
(Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Key Responsibilities Financial Management Oversee all daily dealership accounting functions, including cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. Financial Reporting Prepare and generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP standards. Budgeting & Forecasting Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Provide financial insights and analysis to support leadership decision-making. Tax Compliance Manage all tax-related responsibilities, ensuring timely filing and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. Team Leadership & Process Improvement Supervise and mentor the accounting staff. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development. Identify and implement opportunities to enhance accounting procedures and internal controls. Departmental Collaboration Partner with department managers in Sales, Service, and Parts to review financial performance. Analyze expenses and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability. Qualifications Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive Controller role or similar accounting position. At least 3 years of supervisory experience required. Education College degree preferred. Technical Skills Proficiency in dealership accounting systems, preferably Automate accounting software . Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and financial data analysis tools. Analytical Abilities Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Communication Skills Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and senior management.
