We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead financial operations for our client in Western NH. This Controller role will be a part of the company's leadership team but be a very hands on Controller role along with mentoring and developing a staff and providing reliable insight that supports sound business decisions. This Controller role is based in New Hampshire and will oversee accounting activities, reporting accuracy, and compliance across the organization. The idea0 Controller candidate brings strong leadership, a solid background in accounting and finance, and the ability to improve processes while maintaining effective internal controls. No specific industry required, however any inventory or cost exposure would be a plus!
Responsibilities:
  • Direct day-to-day accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate records and dependable financial oversight across the business.
  • Lead the monthly close process, including reconciliations, financial review, and preparation of timely internal reports and formal financial statements.
  • Design, strengthen, and monitor internal controls and financial procedures to protect data integrity and support operational efficiency.
  • Maintain productive relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, and other external partners by delivering required financial information and coordinating reviews.
  • Oversee inventory accounting activities, partnering with operations leadership on reconciliations, annual counts, and resolution of inventory-related variances.
  • Prepare and submit tax filings and related documentation accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Develop budgets, performance reporting, and financial analysis for business segments and department leaders to support planning and decision-making.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff while promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and career growth.
  • Coordinate with third-party providers supporting information technology, communications, and online order issue resolution as needed.
