Interim Controller

Interim Controller New York, NY (Onsite/Hybrid)

Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Interim Controller to lead core accounting operations and drive process improvements within a multi-entity environment . This role is ideal for a technical accounting leader who can manage the close, support reporting needs, and implement automation to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare consolidated financial statements and management/board reporting Oversee general ledger , journal entries, intercompany activity, and reconciliations Deliver variance analysis and financial insights Drive process automation across accounting workflows (reconciliations, reporting, invoice processing) Lead the annual audit and manage external auditor relationships Maintain and enhance internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance Support cash management , forecasting, and treasury activities

Qualifications:

10+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience Background in public accounting (Big 4 or similar) Strong experience with multi-entity consolidations Deep knowledge of GAAP (revenue recognition, leases, etc.) Proven track record of process improvement and automation CPA required
