Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in construction, real estate development, or related industries. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented financial professional who can manage and assist with day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the company's continued growth. This role offers a path to increased responsibility and leadership within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the accounting department, including monthly closes, general ledger, A/P, A/R, and payroll. Develop and maintain financial reporting systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections in collaboration with the executive team. Monitor and manage cash flow, including intricate intercompany transactions and capital planning. Ensure compliance with GAAP, local, state, and federal regulations. Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions. Assist with the financial management of a diverse portfolio of operating businesses and development projects, including:

7+ years of accounting or financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role. CPA designation preferred; public accounting background a plus. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Hands-on approach with the ability to manage both strategic planning and day-to-day operations. Proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
Preferences:
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to collaborate across departments. Experience in construction, real estate, or property management industries preferred.
