Overview As a Zonal Vice President of Workers' Compensation Claims, you will be responsible for leading a team of 150+ claim professionals responsible for adjudicating claims throughout the Northeastern United States. Delivery of optimal technical outcomes and customer experience will require strong knowledge of industry best practices in claim investigation, disability management, litigation management, medical management, and claim evaluation and resolution. Requires strong knowledge of cross functional support groups and the ability to work in partnership with them to include Managed Care, Legal, SIU, Operations and Analytics. Additional responsibilities include resource planning, talent selection and development, regulatory compliance and the ability to use data, analysis and improvement plans to deliver corporate goals and objectives. Responsibilities Lead a team of 150+ claim professionals responsible for adjudicating workers compensation claims in select states in accordance with industry best practices Work in partnership with the WC line of business lead to set the overall strategy, ensuring delivery and execution; partners and aligns with the Claims strategy team on priorities and any enterprise initiatives impacting the WC line of business Work in partnership with Claims Quality Assurance, Learning and Development and other functional leads as warranted to deliver improved programs and LOB support In partnership with Claims and IT business leads, contribute to the identification and delivery of improvements in automation and data management. Ensure consistency in process, use of claim systems/applications, delivery of service and customer experience within assigned area of responsibility Serve as the lead in developing claim technical improvement plans in partnership with zonal and field office leadership. Ensure proper oversight and execution to deliver the intended results Prepare timely and informative management reports, business cases and cost benefit reviews specific to areas of responsibility Qualifications 10+ years in a senior claims leadership role responsible for multiple branch office locations 7+ years' experience claims technical handling and oversight of workers' compensation claims Proven ability to manage organizational change, to involve and influence others to accept new ideas or innovative approaches, to lead in a team-based organization Ability to interact collaboratively and work effectively with a multi-functional team and throughout the organization; fosters an environment of shared responsibility and accountability Experience with State and regulatory compliance audits Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical skills Education Undergraduate studies in Insurance, Business or related field; advanced degree preferred CPCU, ARM, or equivalent insurance related designations preferred This job description is designed to provide a general overview of the requirements of the job and does not entail a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that will be required in this position.
