To Apply for this Job Click Here Controller Contract-to-Hire | Onsite (Mount Holly, NJ) | Up to $115,000 Description We are partnering with a small, family-owned business in Mount Holly, NJ seeking a hands-on Controller on a contract-to-hire basis. This is a full "soup-to-nuts" role responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a lean environment, wearing multiple hats, and managing everything from daily transactions to financial reporting and process improvements. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activity
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and adjusting entries
  • Maintain and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and workflows
  • Handle cash management, budgeting, and financial forecasting
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Partner with ownership on financial reporting, business insights, and operational decision-making
  • Coordinate with external accountants on tax filings and year-end reporting
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Assist with system improvements or process automation as needed
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger, financial reporting, and full-cycle accounting
  • Experience working in a small company or family-owned business environment preferred
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement prep
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks or similar ERP) preferred
