This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintains internal controls, manages budgeting and forecasting processes, and provides financial analysis to support strategic business decisions. The Controller works closely with executive leadership and operational teams to drive financial performance and operational efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cost accounting. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Develop, maintain, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational performance. Manage manufacturing cost accounting, including inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, and product costing. Monitor inventory controls and work closely with operations to ensure accurate inventory reporting. Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements. Prepare cash flow forecasts and support treasury management activities. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations. Develop and maintain financial reporting dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs). Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and business analysis. Supervise and mentor accounting staff while promoting professional development and continuous improvement. Collaborate with operations, supply chain, production, and executive leadership teams to support business objectives. QualificationsEducation Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA designation preferred. Experience 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience. 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment required. Strong background in cost accounting and inventory accounting. Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar. Skills and Competencies Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and cost accounting principles. Advanced financial analysis and forecasting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Experience with ERP systems and inventory management processes. Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications CPA certification. Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A). Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting. Budget-to-actual performance. Inventory accuracy and valuation. Cost reduction and margin improvement initiatives.
