The company provides integrated logistics, warehousing, distribution, and transportation services to domestic and international clients. We are entering a period of rapid growth and geographic expansion and are building the financial organization to support scalability, transparency, and long‑term value creation.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and analytically strong Controller to support the company's accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in audit, public accounting, or financial reporting , who is ready to grow into broader responsibility within a dynamic, multi‑site logistics operation. The Controller will work closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, support audits, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to business planning and pricing analysis for new projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across multiple U.S. locations Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations Assist in the preparation of GAAP‑compliant financial statements Maintain general ledger accuracy and support consistent accounting policies Audit & Compliance Support internal and external audits and act as a primary point of contact for audit data requests Assist with audit readiness, schedules, and documentation Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and multi‑state regulatory requirements Business Planning & Pricing Support Assist executive leadership in preparing business plans and financial analyses for new customers, warehouses, and service offerings Develop and maintain cost models for warehousing, handling, labor, space utilization, and transportation services Support the formulation of service rates and pricing proposals to ensure projects meet target margin and profitability objectives Analyze profitability by customer, site, and service line to identify improvement opportunities Budgeting & Analysis Participate in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes Prepare variance analyses and performance summaries for management Support financial modeling and ad‑hoc analysis related to growth initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following: Public accounting External or internal audit Financial reporting or accounting roles Consulting Experience with financial audits or employment at an accounting or audit firm strongly preferred Solid understanding of
U.S. GAAP
Strong analytical and Excel skills High attention to detail, organizational discipline, and eagerness to learn Interest in building a long‑term career in a fast‑growing logistics business Proficiency in Italian language is considered a plus Why Join
