Job Overview:
Reporting to the SVP Development and Strategic Initiatives, the AVP of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for spearheading the strategic growth of this new position to develop and expand statewide corporate and foundation relationships. This role will implement high-level strategic cultivation of new funding opportunities to obtain philanthropic gifts that support both system-wide and hospital-based programs and capital needs. This person will work strategically with all the Grant Managers and the Vice Presidents of Development at each of the hospitals to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.

Required:
Bachelor's degree Seven to ten (7-10) years related experience in strategic fundraising or corporate relations Excellent writing skills Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail Proven strategic thinker with the ability to see the 'big picture' Ability to work independently and as a team member Ability to strategically change priorities in a high-volume environment Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the diverse public Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines High level of energy, initiative, and creativity Self-motivated, outgoing, creative, and results-oriented Knowledge of Microsoft software applications, including
Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge Preferred:

Preferred Essential Functions:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic roadmap for Corporate and Foundation Relations across the State of New Jersey; strengthen existing relationships and identify corporate/foundation philanthropic objectives that align with our long-term system capital and programmatic goals. Grow and manage a personal portfolio of 10-30 corporate/foundation relationships with significant capacity and maintain a strategic schedule of contacts and a move management plan for donor capacity building. Analyze and propose strategic funding opportunities: determine who to solicit and on whose behalf, one of our 12 hospitals, service lines, or overall system. Create and implement strategic cultivation strategies by composing and editing letters of introduction and inquiry, proposals, stewardship reports, acknowledgments, and other donor correspondence, s trategic packages for corporate partners that include naming opportunities, philanthropic grants, event sponsorship, and employee engagement opportunities. Meet with cross-functional teams of Foundation VPs, Service Line leaders, and internal stakeholders to provide strategic oversight on grant, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities and then collaborate with the Grants Management team on reviewing outgoing LOIs, grants, timelines, reports, and acknowledgments before final submission. Work with the AVP of Database Management to create and produce strategic prospect management and proposal reports to drive data-informed decision-making.
