Job Description

Prominent community focused organization in the Capital Region company in Schenectady County is looking for an Assistant Controller to help lead its growing team and financial reporting processes. This position would work in a collaborative environment to ensure proper reporting, manage complex reconciliations and balance sheet accounts, and help train and develop staff. Responsibilities:
Assist the Controller in the preparation of financial statements Managing the financial reporting processes, overseeing monthly/quarterly/annual reports Assist with annual tax filings, internal compliance, and annual audit preparation Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, cash flow statements, and following up on billing issues Perform cost accounting duties and inventory reconciliations General ledger management including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Managing the month-end close processes including accruals and bank recs Assist in the annual budget, forecasting, and financial analytics Candidates profile: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 10+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting Strong financial reporting and consolidations expertise General ledger management, experience overseeing month-end close processes Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Excel; experience utilizing an ERP required Excellent communicative and organizational skills Nesco Resource provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
