Job Description

Opportunity to grow quickly Working alongside senior leadership About Our Client Construction, real estate development, and property management company based in New York. Job Description Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP Lead construction job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project financial analysis Monitor cash flow, forecasting, and banking relationships to support operational and strategic initiatives Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting for leadership review Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and internal financial controls Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment Partner with project managers and operations teams to monitor project profitability and financial performance Manage external relationships including auditors, banks, insurance providers, and tax advisors Develop and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies Support executive leadership with strategic financial analysis and operational decision-making MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership responsibilities Strong construction accounting experience required Experience with job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion accounting Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Experience with ERP/accounting systems commonly used in construction environments Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment What's on Offer Competitive compensation package Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Career growth opportunities within a stable and growing organization
