Director of Finance

Director of Finance A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Director of Finance to join its leadership team. About the Role Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance & CFO, the Director of Finance will play a key leadership role within the finance function. This position oversees 2 direct reports and partners closely with the CFO, Controller, and cross-functional teams across the organization. The role is responsible for both operational and strategic financial leadership, with a strong emphasis on reporting, compliance, and system/process improvements within a nonprofit environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee endowment accounting, treasury, and cash management functions Support construction and capital project accounting Manage portfolio and investment reporting and analysis Oversee contract administration and financial compliance processes Strengthen internal controls and ensure GAAP-compliant nonprofit reporting Lead financial reporting, audit support, and financial analysis Partner with leadership on system enhancements and process improvements Provide ad hoc financial analysis across departments Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 5–8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred Experience with endowments, treasury, and financial reporting Financial Edge experience a plus (not required) Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required MBA a plus EB-1809663244
