Job Details The System Vice President of Radiology provides executive leadership, strategic direction, and operational integration for all imaging services across the health system. This role oversees diagnostic radiology, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The position is accountable for regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, physician and industry partnerships, and the system-wide adoption of best practices to optimize clinical, operational, and financial performance. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management Provide executive oversight for system-wide imaging operations, ensuring efficient workflows, consistent standards, and exceptional patient experiences across hospital and ambulatory settings. Establish, manage, and oversee strategic industry partnerships, ensuring all imaging-related contractual and operational obligations are met. Serve as the primary executive liaison to radiology physician groups, fostering collaborative partnerships, high-quality clinical services, and effective coverage and staffing models. Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary imaging teams, including radiologists, technologists, nurses, and support staff. Develop, implement, and standardize policies, procedures, and quality standards for imaging services across the health system. Define, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for radiology operations and professional services. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout all imaging environments. Strategic Planning & Development Design and implement an integrated organizational model to enhance radiology services across Catholic Health. Develop and execute system-wide imaging strategies aligned with hospital, medical group, and service line growth objectives. Evaluate, recommend, and oversee the adoption of new imaging technologies, equipment, and service lines. Collaborate with medical staff leadership and hospital executives to strengthen clinical programs and optimize service delivery. Clinical Quality & Performance Oversight Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission, CMS, DOH, ACR, NRC, and state and local requirements. Monitor and improve performance metrics related to imaging quality, interpretation accuracy, turnaround times, patient outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Lead initiatives supporting accreditation, radiation safety, infection prevention, and clinical quality improvement. Financial & Resource Management In collaboration with entity-based leadership, develop and manage operating and capital budgets for imaging services. Lead a multi-year capital planning process to proactively address equipment replacement, expansion, and technology investments. Optimize resource utilization, productivity, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high standards of clinical quality and safety. Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, including equipment procurement, service agreements, and maintenance programs. Ensure financial performance targets and savings projections associated with strategic partnerships are achieved. Collaboration & Communication Partner closely with physicians, nursing leadership, DTS, and other departments to coordinate and continuously improve imaging services. Serve as a key liaison between radiology, health system and hospital leadership, and external partners. Support patient education, communication, and engagement related to imaging procedures and services. Collaborate with Digital Technology Services (DTS) to plan and implement advanced imaging systems, PACS/RIS, and emerging digital solutions. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or related discipline) preferred Licensure / Certification Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent required State licensure as applicable Experience Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in radiology, imaging services, or complex healthcare service line management At least 3-5 years in a leadership role Experience in a multi-hospital or integrated health system preferred Skills & Competencies Strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities Strong knowledge of imaging technology, regulatory compliance, and healthcare operations Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, capital planning, and cost management Ability to lead change, drive performance improvement, and foster innovation Posted Salary Range USD $280,000.00 - USD $325,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
