About Us:
We are a property management company specializing in residential real estate, including Condominiums, Cooperatives, HOAs, and a select portfolio of rental and commercial properties. Based in Mount Kisco, NY, we serve clients across NYC, Westchester County, NY, and Fairfield County, CT. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional financial and operational management services to our clients, ensuring their properties run smoothly and efficiently.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant CFO/Controller to join our team. This role is ideal for a financial professional with experience in property management or a related industry - could also be beneficial for someone who is looking to reduce their commute (no NYC travel required!) and take on a leadership role in a growing company. You will work closely with our retiring CFO/Controller to manage all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service to our clients. This position offers the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role as the current CFO/Controller transitions into retirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing all financial operations for our clients, including bank account maintenance, bill payments, and budget preparation. Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports for clients, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Collaborate with homeowners, shareholders, and vendors to resolve financial inquiries and issues. Develop and maintain financial spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools. Support the creation of annual budgets and financial forecasts for client properties. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in property management, real estate, or a related industry. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and team members. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with condominiums, cooperatives, or HOAs is a plus. Why Join Us?
