Job Overview - Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund)
Compensation:
$150,000 - $225,000/year + bonusLocation:
New York, NY Atlantic Group is hiring an Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund) in New York, NY for our client. In this role, you will support hedge fund accounting, NAV oversight, financial reporting, and investor capital activity across complex investment strategies. You will partner with internal leadership and external service providers to oversee fund accounting processes, valuation support, regulatory reporting, and internal controls across a multi-asset class platform. Responsibilities as the Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund):NAV Oversight:
Oversee and review the month-end NAV process to ensure accurate fund accounting and timely close execution.Reconciliations & Valuation:
Supervise cash and position reconciliations while overseeing valuation and P&L review across complex instruments.Fee & Capital Activity:
Manage fee calculations, partnership allocations, capital account statements, and investor capital activity.Reporting & Regulatory Support:
Prepare and review management and client reporting while supporting regulatory, audit, and tax processes.Controls & Process Improvement:
Maintain internal controls and support process improvements across accounting and operational workflows. Qualifications for the Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund):Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.Certification:
CPA required.Experience:
5-8 years of experience in hedge fund accounting, fund administration, or public accounting with direct exposure to private funds is required.Industry Knowledge:
Strong technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with hedge fund structures, NAV processes, investor capital activity, and complex financial instruments are required.Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel skills are required, and experience with Enfusion and other accounting, portfolio, or reporting systems is strongly preferred.Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, systems aptitude, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment are essential.Application Notice:
