Automotive Controller Confidential New York, NY Job Details Full-time $100,000 - $110,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Staff supervision Microsoft Excel Operations management Attention to detail Managing accounting teams Organizational skills Accounting and finance experience Bachelor's degree in accounting Time management Full Job Description The Office Manager/Controller is a key member of the Finance Department and supports the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and dealership compliance. This role is responsible for supervising accounting staff, managing general ledger activity and reconciliations, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and coordinating deal processing and title administration. The Office Manager/Controller plays a critical role in leading the accounting team through the monthly 5-day close process while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Support and coordinate the monthly 5-day financial close Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity Supervise accounting staff, including AP, AR, payroll, deal billing, and title clerks Oversee deal processing accuracy and DMV/title compliance Monitor vendor payments, receivables, and aging schedules Assist with inventory reconciliations and fixed asset tracking Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP standards, and company policies Support audit preparation and operational improvements Qualifications & Skills Strong knowledge of GAAP and dealership accounting practices Experience supervising accounting or administrative staff High attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with DMS systems and Microsoft Excel Strong communication and time management abilities Performance Expectations Complete month-end close within 5 business days Maintain accurate reconciliations and financial records Ensure timely and accurate deal posting and title processing Support efficient departmental operations and compliance standards
