$200,000 - $225,000 Overview A well-established asset management firm in New York is seeking a Controller to join its finance and operations team. This role will be responsible for overseeing key accounting, financial reporting, and operational processes across multiple investment vehicles, including partnerships, hedge funds, and separately managed accounts (SMAs). The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in fund accounting or investment operations and the ability to manage complex reconciliations, reporting, and client deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Prepare and review daily performance reports for a high-priority client, highlighting portfolio performance and significant investment activity Manage cash reconciliations between custodians and internal portfolio systems; investigate and resolve trade breaks identified by external partners Prepare monthly client reporting packages for Partnerships and quarterly reports for Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) Oversee alternative investment postings in the portfolio accounting system (APX), calculate private equity distributions, and prepare capital statements Draft annual financial statements for long-only and hedge fund vehicles Support the annual custody audit and assist with firm tax filings and 1099 reporting Operations & Trade Support Assist with trade execution for SMAs based on instructions from Research and Portfolio Management teams Prepare quarterly billing for SMAs and review expense items including rent tax paymentsQualifications Experience:
3-5 years of experience in fund accounting, middle office, or investment operations within asset management or financial servicesTechnical Skills:
Strong Excel skills; experience with portfolio accounting systems (Advent APX strongly preferred)Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of partnerships, private equity structures, hedge funds, and SMA reportingSimilar remote jobs
