THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client, a widely recognized multi-business media enterprise, is seeking a VP, Finance to lead finance function and serve the strategic needs of the business. This role will partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership team to drive financial strategy, operational performance, and long-term value creation. Positioned as a CFO-in-training opportunity, this individual will take ownership of the finance function while helping guide the business through its next phase of growth, including scaling operations, refining the business model, and supporting future strategic transactions. The role is highly visible and requires a leader who can translate financial performance into actionable business insights while operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and rolling financial outlooks. Partner directly with executive leadership to support capital allocation, pricing strategy, and investment prioritization. Oversee monthly financial reporting, delivering clear insights, variance analysis, and forward-looking recommendations. Own lender reporting, covenant compliance, & treasury-related activities, maintaining strong financial discipline. Serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including lenders, investors, and board members. Provide financial leadership across a multi-revenue stream business model, supporting cross-functional initiatives and growth strategies. Translate financial data into commercial insights, helping leadership understand performance drivers and strategic trade-offs. Support M&A, strategic initiatives, and business expansion efforts, including financial modeling and diligence. Oversee and develop finance team members, including leaders across accounting and FP&A. Drive improvements in financial processes, reporting infrastructure, & data visibility to support scaling operations. Foster a "no surprises" financial environment through proactive communication and strong analytical rigor.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or equivalent preferred. 8 -12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance leadership roles. Prior experience operating at a VP Finance / Senior Director level or equivalent, with readiness to step into a CFO-track role. Strong background in financial planning, business modeling, and performance analysis. Experience supporting multi-revenue stream or subscription-based business models preferred. Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership and influence strategic decision-making. Familiarity with lender reporting, financial governance, and board-level communication. Experience in high-performance or private equity-backed environments is a plus. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to translate complex data into business insights. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, and transformation-oriented environment.
Pay:
$250,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
