Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Melville, New York. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in accounting and the construction industry. The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of financial records and compliance with accounting regulations.
- Supervise document control processes to ensure proper organization and accessibility of company documents.
- Utilize Sage 300 to streamline accounting tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Coordinate the scanning, compiling, and archiving of financial documents to maintain an organized record-keeping system.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights for strategic decision-making and cost management.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with business goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in accounting and financial management.
- Assist in audits and ensure readiness for compliance reviews. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Sage 300 software is required.
- Strong knowledge of document control and record-keeping practices.
- Experience with document scanning and compiling processes.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
