Job Description

Job Overview We are a growing mechanical contracting and HVAC service company in Westchester County looking for a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee our day-to-day accounting and finance function. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, capable of assessing current accounting and finance operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes. Duties Manage month-end close process including preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules and balance sheet reconciliations Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including WIP, profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including GAAP Manage accounts payable and receivable related to construction projects Conduct payroll reviews and provide labor bill rate support for project-related staff Manage all tax filings Coordinate with external auditors on annual financial review Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures Monitor daily cash management and cash control processes. Provide regular reports and updates to senior and executive management Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, or CCIFP certification is preferred but not required Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting Proven knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Advanced understanding of construction industry financial practices and regulations including POC accounting Proficient in construction ERP software (e.g., Sage, JD Edwards, Procore, etc). Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools Essential Skills High degree of integrity and honesty Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines Ability to collaborate effectively and lead team of accountants and financial professionals Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy Capacity to explain complex financial information to non-financial personnel Ability to align financial management with the overall strategic goals of the company Excellent written and verbal communication
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
