Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on and strategic Assistant Controller to support financial leadership within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with the Controller to oversee accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and strengthen cost accounting and internal controls. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with a deep understanding of manufacturing operations and the ability to lead and develop a team.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reportingOversee and enhance cost accounting processes, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuationEnsure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesReview journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and compliance with GAAPAnalyze manufacturing performance, including labor, material, and overhead variances, and provide insights to leadershipPartner with operations, supply chain, and plant leadership to improve cost controls and operational efficiencyLead inventory accounting processes, including physical counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation proceduresAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, including margin and cost analysisStrengthen and maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and audit requirementsSupport external and internal audits and coordinate with auditors as neededSupervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performing team environmentDrive process improvements and system enhancements, including ERP optimization and automation initiatives
