US Air Tool Company (USATCO) is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. The Controller will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening controls, improving processes, and providing strategic financial guidance to company leadership. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Long Island, New York. Candidates must be able to work in the office at our Long Island location five days per week, Monday through Friday. Remote, hybrid, and out-of-area applicants will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accounting Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting. Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial reporting standards. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records. Financial Planning & Analysis Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis. Develop reports and dashboards that provide actionable business insights. Support leadership with financial modeling, planning, and decision-making. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management Monitor company cash flow and liquidity. Oversee collections, customer credit management, and accounts receivable performance. Manage vendor payment processes and working capital requirements. Identify opportunities to improve cash flow and operational efficiency. Inventory & Cost Accounting Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and reporting. Analyze inventory trends, carrying costs, and inventory accuracy. Support costing and profitability analysis across product lines and operations. Investigate and resolve inventory and cost variances. Compliance, Controls & Risk Management Develop, maintain, and improve internal controls and accounting procedures. Coordinate external audits and support auditor requests. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements. Support ISO and quality system requirements as they relate to financial controls and recordkeeping. Systems & Process Improvement Serve as a key stakeholder in ERP and business system optimization, including NetSuite. Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and process standardization. Develop scalable financial processes that support company growth. Partner with leadership to implement operational and financial best practices. Leadership & Collaboration Lead and develop the accounting team. Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards. Work cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Customer Success, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership. Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and teamwork. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA designation preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, aerospace, or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and cost accounting. Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
