Job Description What you will be doing: Oversee and administer Tonawanda's accounting system to ensure all financial reporting, policies, and procedures are in compliance with GAAP and applicable laws. Serve as a key member of the Tonawanda leadership team with a strong on-site presence to effectively support operations and fulfill position responsibilities. Report directly to the Corporate Controller with a dotted line to the Plant Manager. Prepare and oversee the monthly close process for the plant, ensuring completeness and accuracy of report packages. Analyze product costs and compile product cost statements for management review on a monthly basis. Reconcile intercompany accounts on a monthly basis. Proactively meet with plant management regularly to discuss cost comparisons to budget and perform cost analyses to drive cost management and savings. Coordinate annual physical inventories and update the system to actual based on count results, reporting variances to local and corporate management. Establish and update standard inventory values on an annual basis or as needed. Prepare necessary regulatory filings including periodic sales & use tax filings, annual FORM 1099's, and any other non-payroll required filings. Assist in ERP (IFS) Implementation for Finance and Operations teams.
Experience you will need:
Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance and have 3 or more years of management experience. Have strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills. Be knowledgeable in the principles and practices of purchasing, including competitive bidding practices. Have high standards of ethics and integrity and be able to represent the company in a professional and effective manner to various associations, customers, vendors, and the public. Have the ability to manage and compile large amounts of data into meaningful analysis. Be self-motivated and have the proven ability to work in, and contribute to, a team environment to drive operations and process improvements.
