Responsible for the accounting operations of the company to include production of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports. Responsible for maintaining accurate system of accounting records. Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. Has shared oversight with the external CPA firm of the companies' finances. General Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for all Accounting functions: AP, AR, GL, Payroll, Billing, Cost, Reporting, Forecasting, etc., Supervise all personnel performing Accounting functions,. Support senior management regarding any financial decision making. Manages weekly cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations are completed for all accounts. Ensure the company is following federal, state, and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements. Ensures that company policies and procedures are established and adhered to. Prepares and sends financial reports as required by law to government agencies and keeps management aware of significant changes that will affect the financial condition of the company. Supervise Payroll process. Insurance management, compare pricing on all medical and property related insurances by getting quotes from various agencies on a yearly basis. Monitor and access means to increase profit margin, reduce staff cost, control overtime, control overhead costs as well as expense related to suppliers and the facility. Minimize tax exposure and related tax costs. Adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Responsible for supervising, mentoring and coaching staff. Drives excellence in business, cost effective financial operations, managing workflows, budgets, scheduling, and other items as needed
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
Full competency in the workings of the general ledger and its relationship to the profit and loss statement as well as the balance sheet. Complete understanding of balance sheet reconciliations to subsidiary records. General understanding of the relationship of accounting/finance department to other departments in the company. Certification /
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting and/or finance required. Have been a CPA with 5 years of exp. or 15 years or more experience in all areas of accounting.. Comprehensive experience in QuickBooks and exposure to other accounting systems. Intermediate user of Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook Desired Experience /
Education:
Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting. 2-4 years on Construction Management or General Contracting or Subcontractor industry experience. Understanding of commercial insurance policies required Benefits offered: Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off
