CONTROLLER
Child Guidance & Family Solutions is looking for a qualified Controller to join our team of dedicated professionals! The Controller manages and directs the accounting, financial and payroll functions of the agency. The Controller ensures the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective stewardship of organization resources. This role supports the CFO and executive leadership with financial analysis, budgeting, audit coordination, monitors annual operating and grant contract budgets, prepares financial reports for internal management and external agencies, and establishes and maintains internal control policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:
Oversees general ledger, AP and AR functions, payroll, and month-end close processes Prepares accurate and timely financial statements, and oversees account reconciliations Leads annual budgeting process and monitors actual performance, providing variance analyses Monitors revenue from funding sources and prepares financial reports for external funding agencies Tracks and reports on grant funding and supports cost allocation across programs. Directs annual financial audit, preparing schedules for auditors and ensuring compliant reporting Manages cash and investment activities, monitoring cash flow and preparing projections Supervises and mentors Accounting Team, including
Accountant, Accounting Specialist and Payroll Specialist Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master's degree and/or CPA preferred At least 3-5 years' progressive work experience in an accounting and 2+ years management experience required Grant accounting experience a plus Proficiency with financial and third-party payroll software needed; Great Plain Dynamics and ADP preferred. Advanced computer skills in Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy; good organization skills Knowledge of regulations affecting non-profit agencies
